The fix is a search on the Orange County Property Appraiser site, which lists the taxing jurisdiction for any address before a crew shows up. Orange County's landscape code, Chapter 24, defines "turf, turf grass or sod" only as living species such as Bahia and St. Augustine, and as of September 2026 we found no separate section covering synthetic turf there, so a Pine Castle install answers to the state's own turf standard rather than a local ordinance written for it. That outlet into the lake chain puts this part of the county in Kissimmee Basin territory administered out of South Florida's water agency, a separate line of authority from the St. Johns district that oversees water closer to downtown Orlando.

Will Wallace Harney named his home "the Pine Castle" for its pine-board towers on Lake Conway, and the town that grew up around it in 1884 still shapes what a crew finds on a lot here. The Pine Castle Woman's Club, organized in 1940, has run the Pine Castle Pioneer Days festival at Cypress Grove Park every February since 1973, and the oaks that shade many of the town's original streets, including West Avenue and Maud Avenue from an 1884 addition to the town, are now old enough that their canopies reach well past the trunk. The state's turf rule keeps synthetic grass out from under that canopy unless a certified arborist signs off that digging near the roots will not hurt the tree, which changes the shape of a quote more than the size of the yard does.
