What to look at in a turf photo

Every finished turf job looks green on the day it's done. The details that predict how it will look after a rainy season are at the edges: whether the turf stops cleanly at a fence, a curb or a paver course, whether trunks and root flares are boxed out with edging or a planter instead of buried, whether drains still sit flush, and whether a putting surface has a fringe collar so the short pile doesn't end in a bare seam.

The nine photos below are all our own installations, not stock. They show a lakefront yard with a pool and practice green, two backyard putting greens, turf between porcelain pavers, a pool-home backyard, a seating area under a tree and two rooftop amenity decks at a high-rise. We don't publish customers' addresses or neighborhoods, and each caption describes only what's visible in the frame.

We don't publish customers' addresses or neighborhoods. The captions describe what's visible in each photo: the edge details, the drains, the fringe on a green, the ring around a palm.
